Um dos mais populares sites dedicados à música, e a cultura pop em geral, o Consequence Of Sound, celebrou seu 15° aniversário atualizando a sua lista com os melhores discos de todos os tempos. Publicado originalmente em 2010, o top 100 foi radicalmente refeito, com muitos discos entrando e outros, naturalmente, deixando o ranking.
A grande surpresa foi ver "Purple Rain", lançado por Prince em 1984 se tornando o novo "campeão". Há 12 anos, o disco estava no 50° posto - e é o único do artista presente.
Para o site, o que torna o LP absolutamente brilhante é o fato de tudo nele soar tão desafiador hoje quanto há 38 anos. "Abbey Road", dos Beatles, que em 2010 ficou no número 1, agora está no terceiro posto, atrás também de "Rumours", do Fleetwood Mac (58° na lista anterior).
O disco mais antigo do ranking é "Kind Of Blue", de Miles Davis, de 1959 (em 44°). " Heaven and Earth", do também jazzista Kamasi Washington, e "Dirty Computer" de Janelle Monáe, ambos de 2018, são os mais recentes. O dele no 99° lugar e o dela em 75°.
